The Whitehaven Maritime Festival is at it once again.
This Summer August the 15th to be precise. Whitehaven will travel back in time to the Yo-Yo decade that saw the birth of the Yuppie, New Romantics, The Birdy song and many more weird and odd happenings.
That's right the 1980's are coming.
Worldwide multi -million selling Record Artists will be partying at the Copeland Athletic Stadium entertaining the masses.
Huge names from the 80's such as Midge Ure - Rick Astley (I know what your humming in your head ) - Paul Young - Toyah - Belinda Carlise and Curiosity Killed the Cat will all be performing at The Copeland Stadium.
Thankfully, Kid Creole and the Coconuts were not available.... Phewww
The artists between them all have sold over 120 million records, back to back that's enough records to go round the world 5 times.
A great coup for The Festival Committee as The Hear and Now Tour are playing some of the biggest venues across the UK and Whitehaven is in amongst them.

I think it's going to be a cracking gig when you look at the venues they have sold out in the past few years, in addition to the venues they are playing this year, Whitehaven is in some impressive company. It couldn't be sweeter. I only wish I had hair to do up but at least I can still squeeze into the jeans!"
