Not only do we have the pleasure of The Here and Now Concert featuring Boy George - Bnanaramamamamama and Carol Decker on the Friday. We have British Legends
Madness on the Saturday (still can't believe that coup) we now have to top it all off

Over the years The Whitehaven Festival have pulled some World class names to the town.
The Festival Company have always had a policy of showcasing local bands and acts giving them an opportunity to strutt their stuff.
This year The Whitehaven Festival have gone one further and brought in Whitehavens very own
Mighty Boof Promotions to work alongside the festival in running The main stage on the Sunday.

Razorlight are a UK rock'n'roll band who came together in London in 2002. Johnny Borrell (vocals/guitar), Carl Dalemo (bass), Bjorn Agren (guitar) and Skully (drums) quickly became one of the key guitar bands of the following decade, selling 4 million albums, playing sold out arena tours, headlining festivals and appearing on the cover of magazines from NME to Vogue.

Their debut album, Up All Night, was released in the United Kingdom in June 28 2004 and reached number three in the UK Album Chart. The critical reception was highly positive, receiving good reviews from NME, Q magazine and Billboard.

Razorlight released their second album, Razorlight in July 2006 and it debuted at number one in the UK. The lead single from the album, "In The Morning”, peaked at number three in the UK and follow up 'America went straight to number one, while turning the band into an internation al phenomenon with airplay success across Europe and beyond.

In 2007, Razorlight were nominated for two BRIT Awards - one for 'Best British Band' and the other for 'Best Song' for the next single, “America” They were also nominated for two NME Awards for 'Best Band' and 'Best Album'. The band released their third album, Slipway Fires, in November 2008 with the lead single “Wire to Wire” which went to number five in the UK charts. At home they headlined O2 Arena and played before The Killers headline slots at some of the summers' major festivals. 

The band are currently working on their fourth album, set to keep them up there as one of the most compelling, maverick guitars bands to have emerged from the UK in recent years.
