The Wave - Announcement of Autumn Season

The Wave Centre has announced its autumn season of entertainment and events. This is the first season of entertainment at the brand new £3.2m, heritage and entertainment centre and the first professional season of shows in Maryport for many years.

 

Karen Thompson, the Centre Manager said,

"Autumn is certainly upon us now and we're looking forward to brightening up those dark evenings with entertainment for all tastes. I'm really excited about the line up we have for Maryport and West Cumbria and I'm already programming more for the future."

 

The programme includes blues from top band Never The Bride and fantastic local outfit The Judith Jones Band, award winning folk from Jez Lowe and The Bad Pennies and nostalgia from The Backbeat Beatles and the Number 1s Show as well as fantastic Christmas entertainment from The Motown Show. A Christmas Party night is planned with Soul Reason, a fantastic Commitments style band hailing from the North East, buffet and disco. Drama comes in the form of Badapple Theatre with Laurel and Charlie, a play about Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel in their early days on the touring music hall scene. Families are provided for too with James Campbell - the UK's first stand up act for young audiences who has been wowing children across the country. Community events feature strongly with Maryport Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society leading the Christmas celebrations with Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Maryport's very own Mrs Entertainment, Chrissie Patterson presenting a charity concert for Armistice Day, a fundraising concert for Maryport Mayor's charities and Ewanrigg's Got Talent, featuring local children,
