Millstones Barn is a new attraction for the area, featuring an Arts and Crafts Centre, Rural Food Hall and The Byre Restaurant/Cafe and Artisan Bakery. All are housed in the peaceful haven of an old beamed barn and former cow byre. The reclamation of the barn features local timbers for the beams and cedar wood from the farm for display tables.
The Arts and Crafts Centre is set in the old main barn and features an eclectic range of unusual hand made products. The Rural Food Hall offers a mouth-watering range of high quality Cumbrian produce including meats, cheeses and prepared oven-ready dishes.
The Byre Restaurant/Café is bright and airy with a veranda patio and wonderful west coast fell views. It serves home made traditional British food served with a modern twist in a friendly and relaxed environment.
The Artisan Bakery was especially designed as an open plan kitchen so that visitors can actually see what goes in to the bread and cakes as they are being baked, and so that the aroma of fresh cooking drifts throughout the building. The bakery produces artisan breads, home made pies, cakes and desserts, all freshly made each day.
